Can I Do MUDGIRL Solo?

You pull into the parking lot alone. You see groups of women unloading together, laughing, already hyped up. For a second you wonder if you made a mistake coming by yourself.

You did not.

You Are Not Alone

More women show up to MUDGIRL solo than you might think. No crew, no built-in buddy, just themselves and a registration confirmation.

Some signed up on a whim. Some could not find anyone willing to join them. Some deliberately chose to make it their own thing, a day that belonged entirely to them with no one else's pace or energy to manage.

Whatever brought them there alone, most say the same thing afterward. They did not feel alone on the course. Not even close.

What Solo Actually Looks Like

There is something about the MUDGIRL environment that makes it almost impossible to stay a stranger for long.

You will find yourself standing next to someone at the starting line, making small talk while you wait. You will hit an obstacle and someone you have never met will offer a hand without being asked. You will pause to catch your breath and the women passing by will cheer you on like they have known you for years.

Nobody checks whether you came with a group. What they notice is that you showed up. And that is enough to be welcomed.

By the time you cross the finish line, you will likely have exchanged numbers with someone you met on the course. That is just how it tends to go.

The Solo Advantage

Here is something nobody tells you before their first solo race experience. Going alone has its own kind of magic.

When you come with a group, you naturally default to their energy, their pace, their dynamic. You spend part of the day managing the experience for everyone, making sure no one gets left behind, keeping things together.

When you come alone, the entire day is yours. You move at exactly the pace that feels right. You stop when you want to stop. You push when you want to push. You do not have to check in with anyone or wait for anyone or hold back for anyone.

Being alone is not a limitation. It is freedom.

The Community Finds You

The MUDGIRL community is not something you have to seek out or work your way into. It finds you.

It finds you at the start line when someone notices your nerves and says something that makes you laugh. It finds you mid-course when a stranger becomes a temporary teammate over a shared obstacle. It finds you at the finish line when the women around you celebrate like they watched you train for this.

The community will show up for you. But at the end of the day, you are the one who did this.

Coming alone is not the backup plan. It is a decision. One that says you did not wait for the right person, the right time, or the right moment of feeling ready.

That moment in the parking lot when you wonder if you should have come at all? By the finish line, it becomes the proudest thing you did all day.

Show up for yourself. You will never regret it.
