MUDGIRL Story: Eliana-Luz

"I can do anything, even the things I think I'm too weak to do."

That's what Eliana-Luz Harness took away from her first MUDGIRL. This is her story.

Hi, I'm Eliana-Luz. I got to participate in my first mud run in October of 2025, and it turned into something I'll never forget.

How I Got Here

One day, an older family friend was talking to me about experiences she had when she was younger, one of which was a mud run. The way she described it sounded like so much fun, so I went searching for one in my area.

MUDGIRL was the one to catch my eye. The first night, I went through the website and almost every single video. It was empowering and messy, and that resonated with me.

So I signed up. And I dragged a few of my friends with me.

Before and After

Before the race, I was really nervous. I used to be somewhat athletic when I was younger, but I hadn't done anything like that at all. I was worried I would have to quit halfway through. Having my friends with me made me push through the worries.

After the race, I was covered in mud, I was tired, but there was this deep sense of satisfaction. I kept telling myself, "I can't believe I did that." It was truly a pinch me I'm dreaming moment.

My Favorite Memory

My favorite obstacle was for sure PINKRAHNAS. I have a bit of a fear of drowning, so going under the net freaked me out at first, but everyone cheered me on, and in the end, I wasn't scared.

My favorite memory had to be just the travel from obstacle to obstacle. My friends and I were singing and dancing along the path, cheering on the other women there, and just overall having a good time.

That is one thing I love about MUDGIRL. That sisterhood you feel when you're all working to overcome the same challenge.

What MUDGIRL Means to Me

MUDGIRL was such an amazing opportunity for a few reasons. That family friend I mentioned earlier actually passed away a few months before my mud run. So to be able to do something that she had done and encouraged me to do was so special.

In addition to that, after the race, I just felt so powerful. I have my medal hanging up on my mirror.

It reminds me that I can do anything, even the things I think I'm too weak to do.

I loved MUDGIRL so much that I'll be returning to the race again in October.

My Advice? Just Go for It

I think the most important part is, honestly, to just go for it.

I was so happy afterwards. I fell quite a few times, and I was covered in mud, but I was smiling.

Eliana took the leap. Now it's your turn.
